About Bill
A senior leader in schools for over 20 years, initially as a Head of Sport before becoming a Deputy Head and then a Head, I have experience of day, boarding, co-ed and single sex schools of all sizes. My most recent Headship, for over a decade, was at a large day and boarding Prep School in the South-East of England.

I have also been an elected board director at IAPS for many years and chair of major IAPS committees.

In my spare time you will find me out and about on the East Devon coast, sailing my lugger, fishing, nurturing my allotment or on long walks with my spaniel.

"Bill's natural warmth contributes significantly to the atmosphere of the school with well-motivated pupils who come to school with a zest for the day’s happenings in and out of class."

Qualifications
My original qualifications are in geography, followed by a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Management, with a focus on appraisal.

More recently I have completed a Level 7 coaching and mentoring qualification with the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Currently, I am an academic tutor and visiting lecturer for the Education Faculty at the University of Buckingham, a governor at a stand-alone Prep School and an active Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
My experience means I understand how good schools should function and the skills required for good leadership, in any business setting.
My coaching experiences lie mainly within education, coaching Heads, deputy Heads and other senior leaders; however, I have also had coachees from investment banking and law.
